In the Southern part of Portugal there are 3 main wine areas (including Madeira):
1. Alentejo: One of the largest wine regions in Portugal, known for rich and full-bodied reds, as well as a variety of white wines.
2. Algarve: Located at the southernmost part of Portugal, known for its warm climate and a growing wine industry, producing both reds and whites.
3. Madeira: While not on the mainland, the island of Madeira is famous for its fortified wines and has a unique wine production process.
